Do you clean up after clearing a drain?
Yes, and we treat it as part of the job rather than an extra. Sheeting down before we start, the wet vacuum for anything that has already come out, and the affected area left clean and dry. What comes out of the drain leaves with us.
Can you pump out a flooded cellar or light well?
Usually. The vacuum handles standing water and silt, and it works in places a submersible pump cannot because it is not relying on a fall to get the water away. Once the water is off we can get at what caused it, which is normally a blocked or failed drainage point under the water.
My bathroom flooded with sewage. Is that safe to clean up myself?
We would not recommend it. Waste water carries genuine health risk, it soaks into anything porous, and household cleaning does not deal with either. Getting it lifted properly and the area disinfected is worth doing once rather than living with it. Ring and we will tell you what is involved.
Where does the waste go?
Into the tank on the van and away for proper disposal. It is not tipped into a gully, a manhole down the road or the customer's garden. If you want to know where it goes, ask, and we will tell you.
Do you do this on commercial premises?
Yes. Flooded plant rooms, kitchen floors, yards, cellars and lift pits are all normal work, and on trading premises we work around your hours where we can. The quicker the water is off the floor the sooner you are open again.
