Is jetting better than rodding?
They do different jobs. Rodding is quick, effective on a solid obstruction and cheaper, so for a one-off blockage it is often the right call. Jetting cleans the pipe wall itself, which is what you need when the drain has been narrowing for years or when the blockage keeps returning. Frequently we rod to get flow back and jet to keep it.
Can jetting damage my drains?
Not if the pressure is set sensibly for the pipe. The risk is real on already-damaged pitch fibre or badly cracked clay, which is exactly why the camera goes down first on anything we are unsure about. If a run is too far gone to jet safely, jetting it is not the fix and we will tell you what is.
How often should a commercial kitchen drain be jetted?
For most kitchens somewhere between three and six months, depending on how much they fry and how well the grease trap is managed. The interval that suits you is the one that stops emergency callouts, and after the first couple of visits we can tell you what that is for your site rather than quoting a generic figure.
Will jetting clear tree roots?
It clears the root hair and restores flow, often for a good while. It does not stop roots coming back, because they are coming in through a fault and the fault is still there. A survey after jetting shows you where they are entering, and then you can decide between periodic jetting and repairing the joint.
Do you need access to water and power?
The jetter carries its own water and runs off the van, so on a normal job we need neither. On very large commercial jobs a top-up supply is useful, and we will tell you in advance if that applies to yours.
