How quickly can you get to a blocked drain?
Most days we can be with you the same day, and on genuine emergencies, sewage backing up into a property or a drain overflowing, we run a 24/7 callout so nights and weekends are covered too. Ring rather than fill the form in if it is happening right now, because the phone is quicker than an inbox.
What does it cost to clear a blocked drain?
It depends on where the blockage is and what is causing it, which is why we would rather ask a few questions on the phone than quote a number that changes when we arrive. What we will do is tell you the likely figure before we set off and tell you straight away if what we find on site changes it.
Is the blocked drain my responsibility or the water company's?
Roughly: the drain inside your boundary that only serves your property is yours, a shared drain serving several properties is usually the water company's, and the public sewer in the road always is. It is not always obvious which is which from the surface, and a camera survey settles it. If it turns out to be theirs we will tell you so rather than charge you for their pipe.
Can a blocked drain damage the property?
It can, and that is the reason not to leave it. Standing waste backs up into the lowest fitting first, so ground floor showers, downstairs toilets and outside gullies flood before anything else does. Left long enough the pressure finds the weakest joint and starts saturating the ground around the pipe, which is a much bigger job than a jetting.
Do you clear drains inside the property as well?
Yes. Blocked toilets, sinks, showers and soil stacks are all normal work, and the wet vacuum comes in with us so a bathroom floor does not stay under an inch of water while we work. Floors are left dry and the place is left clean.
